Diem Tran – A Student at the University of Economics and Finance Shares Her Learning Journey with Dr. My

My name is Trân, a third-year student at University of Economics and Finance Ho Chi Minh City, majoring in International Economics. I used to think that E-commerce was somewhat “distant” from my field of study, assuming it was more about technical aspects and digital marketing than economics. However, after taking the E-commerce course taught by Dr. My, I developed a completely new perspective on how economic knowledge can be applied to digital technology—and vice versa.

From the very first sessions, Dr. My did not merely present abstract theories. Instead, he consistently grounded discussions in real business and market contexts. Through accessible and relevant case studies, he carefully explained each function, operational process, and stakeholder dynamic, highlighting critical aspects that required attention. This approach not only strengthened my understanding of the subject but also enabled me to apply the knowledge practically, sharpening my analytical thinking through detailed and structured case analysis.

Beyond academic content, Dr. My continually encourages students to develop themselves, leverage their youth, and cultivate essential soft skills. For him, theory alone is never sufficient—practice is indispensable, and meaningful practice requires courage and commitment. I still remember his words to me:
“Just do it. Give it your very best. I will review and comment if there are mistakes. Don’t be afraid of making errors—the more mistakes you make, the more you learn. Mistakes help you grow.”

I truly felt his trust and encouragement. That support became a kind of “shield” throughout my learning journey—giving me the confidence to complete my assignments to the best of my ability.

What impresses me most is his ability to recognize untapped potential within each student. He patiently guides us step by step, offering direction without imposing rigid formulas or conventional molds. He teaches with genuine dedication, grounded in knowledge, experience, and lived practice. His enthusiasm in the classroom reflects a deep commitment to education and has been a source of inspiration not only for me but for many cohorts of students he has taught.

Studying with Dr. My, I have gained not only subject knowledge and practical application skills but also creative thinking abilities and clearer direction for my future goals. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. My for his dedication and for the meaningful value he brings to his students.
